Husband and wife duo, Ezra and Katie have been playing acoustic music together for over 10 years. These Highlands natives recently spent seven years in Los Angeles pursuing their creative endeavors. They are heavily influenced by folk music, country, and traditional Appalachian hymns, looking to Americana artists such as the Avett Brothers, Langhorne Slim, John Prine, and Miranda Lambert as inspirations. THIS WEEK: L.C. Branch

Born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina, L.C. Branch has shared “the acoustic goodness” with the people, and has become a staple of the Southeast singer-songwriter scene. He has toured the East Coast extensively, performing at many festivals and listening rooms, as the frontman of bands, and as a solo artist. His music has received airplay across the US, and has been featured in an Emmy award-winning American Public Television show (“Expeditions with Patrick McMillan”). His style has been described as “soul-infused acoustic sounds, with a nod to his southern roots”, and “a voice that is raspy and as smooth as silk in the same breath.” L.C.’s most recent releases include an EP, “Strange Days” in 2019, and a full-length album, “What Brought Me Here” in 2022.

Spalding McIntosh is a songwriter who has been playing out for over a decade. Establishing himself as a high energy act, that has played across many genres. Having collaborated and toured with the Steep Canyon Rangers in the summer of 2022 and having worked with John Driskell Hopkins of the Zac Brown Band whose singing can be heard on “Little Things”, which Hopkins produced.

THIS WEEK: Trey Duncan

From rocking stages across the southeast to singing praises from the choir loft, Trey Duncan has flirted with just about everything music has to offer. Trey is an independent Country Rock’n’Soul artist based out of Greenville, SC and has been performing professionally since 2019. He marries his Chris Stapleton-esque vocals with a light-hearted smile and versatile guitar chops. Trey comes from a musical family and has always known music would play an important role in his life. His father taught him how to play guitar and ignited a love for rock and roll, while his mother (the singer in the family) fostered an appreciation for country music and honest and transparent songwriting. He also owes a debt of gratitude to growing up singing and playing in church, which is where he attributes the “soul” with which he sings.
His music with Kings Ransome was nominated for several Upstate Music Awards, and his song “Running on Empty” was the regional representative for the fall 2020 anthem chapter challenge at NSAI.
